People talk and you are one of them. Always consider what you are talking about and stay away from topics that will lead you into arguments. Oftentimes we feel passionately about something and want to express ourselves and make our voices heard. This is only natural and you deserve to be heard. The Two of Clubs appears though as a warning to steer your conversations away from certain directions. It holds up its hands and screams to
beware of gossip leading to arguments.
Often our conversations seamlessly shift to talking about the people involved instead of the ideas themselves.
We almost can’t stop ourselves,
it is so irresistible and natural, it just happens.
When we catch ourselves, it’s too late.
We are gossiping!
My suggestion is to practice more mindful awareness of your conversations and when you catch yourself gossiping simply transition to another topic. With time you will be able to gain more and more control of yourself and the conversations and eventually you will be able to guide these conversations to a place where you benefit.
Gossip is fun but it really is an insidious habit that takes us away from having the important conversations that we need to be having. It is good to catch up with someone without having an agenda or purpose but if gossip is a bad habit you are struggling with I suggest you plan out your conversations in advance. This way you develop the ability to go into and exit a conversation with ease and direct it to your purpose. Over time this will do much better for you and your life than spending your time breathlessly spreading rumors and hearing them. It will also save you a lot of headaches and arguments. Instead of needlessly breaking valuable connections you will gain mastery over your ability to communicate.
