Social settings are always difficult to maneuver but maneuver we must in order to make and maintain the connections we need in our lives for our friendships, personal and business relationships. Connecting with people we must be sure that we are communicating clearly and truly being understood as well as understanding people. It is prudent to realize that people may act differently and want to be treated differently as you transition to various settings.

Understand that every look, every gesture, intonation, word, and touch can be perceived as something that it is not. It is very easy for two people to feel like they are connecting with each other and become confused over the other person’s intentions. This is a difficult situation and the source of much misunderstanding, pain and embarrassment for us but the Ten of Spades provides a solution.
