Penn Jillette Describes Being Fooled By Mahdi
Johnny Thompson was a consultant on Penn & Teller's Fool Us. He had many roles on the show behind the scenes but one of his jobs was to sit backstage and communicate with Penn & Teller to let them know if their guess as to how a magic trick is done is correct. Penn Jillette recalls the moment Johnny Thompson let Penn & Teller knows that I fooled them on their hit TV show on the CW, Penn & Teller's Fool Us.
"Although... I don't want to give too much away but I'm gonna... On Fool Us, we had a guy doing sleight of hand with no hands. I think he might have made the right career choice. He is so, so good. It's possible that the most important parts of sleight of hand have nothing to do with having hands. It may just be brains and work. And when the next season of Fool Us comes out... When does it start Glen? July 11th, Monday. Monday, July 11th and I believe he's in one of the early shows so if you don't like the show stick with it till he's on then stop watching. The first two edits are done. Hardly any notes. TheCW loves it! They love Alyson Hannigan, she's our host his year. They love her and they love the acts. They have not grown tired of us. But I'll tell you, the guy with, and it's great cause you should should know this when you see it on Fool Us. We take a guess at how, his name is Mahdi, right? Mahdi Gilbert. We take a really good educated guess at how Mahdi Gilbert does the trick and then in the ear piece, Johnny Thompson, who you all know because I had him on Sunday School two weeks ago. Johnny Thompson's clear voice in our ear piece says, I just love this, I'll remember this the rest of my life...: "Gentlemen, you've just been fooled in sleight of hand, you've just been fooled by pure sleight of hand by a man without hands." I also want to say before you all get upset on Twitter, get all high and mighty. I said I'll remember for the rest of my life and then show that I'd already forgotten it. I'm fully aware of that!"
